A random sum-up of me.

I noticed this in hopeforyou's journal, and I decided I'd try my hand at it.

I work:  Nowhere at the moment.

A year ago, I earned my master's degree (you know how much at times I fail to believe that?), but I came home to help take care of my mother.  I took a few classes, so technically, I'm still a student, but I blew most of them off (bad kat) and have received the worst grades I ever have this year in school, so I don't really count that either.

If I had my way, I'd have been writing, but that didn't work out very well.  See my living situation for why.

I live: in a Schrodinger-like state somewhere in Northern California.  (Hey, that's what my bio says -- or at least, that's what mrfnord and I thought would be funny.)

Seriously, I live in a bedroom of my parents' house in Anderson, California (just south of Redding on I-5) with my mom, my dad, and my sister jillcaligirl.  We're moving to Sacramento this summer, which means that in the last three years, I'll have lived in four Northern California towns (Berkeley, Oakland, Anderson, and Sacramento), hence the joke about my Schrodinger-like state.

I label: using only the best Avery labels.  *nod*

Seriously, I have troubles seeing which ones fit and which ones don't, and sometimes I need a lot of outside help in defining myself  But if I was to put together a list at the moment, I think the following would work:

bipolar, dutiful daughter, student, bright, has potential, lazy, depressed all the time, good friend, tends to fade into the shadows, avid bookworm, part-time philosopher, too fair, tired, highly overweight.  If you can think of others that'll fit, let me know.

I socialise: on the intarweb.  And using this amazing device called a telephone.

Most of my online chat time is spent on (Good hosting, great prices.  Check it out, it comes highly recommended!) or at least on the chat channels on said network, particularly #spork and #impro.  I've also been known to hang out on #callahans on undernet and PyraMoo.  When I have spare time, I try to stay caught up with, but spare time is short and not useful these days.

I'm making more of an effort to get involved with people in meatspace, or start getting to the point where I can hang out with internet buddies in meatspace.  One of the things I'm really looking forward with regards to the impending move to Sacramento is maybe finally finding an IRL gaming group.

I enjoy: so many things.  While I've not quite hit the 150 item limit in LJ, it's just a small total of everything I'm interested in.  I love learning new things.  Here's just a partial list of things I like:

Reading, Writing, Cal football, computers, music, chatting with friends, roleplaying games (in particular GURPS, but I'm willing to give most anything a shot.  At least once.), politics, political blogs, information flow, history (in particular the Cold War), science/speculative fiction, Canada, puppydogs and kittycats, San Francisco, coffee shops (although I don't like coffee, go fig), TS Eliot, the Internet, worldbuilding, linguistics and conlanging, alternate history, weirdness, and ...yeah, that just tops the list. :)

But if there's one thing that sums me up, it's that I'm a highly creative and curious person, which sometimes gets me in trouble, but most of the time is pretty damned cool.  Or at least I think so.

I plan: nothing!  I live for today!

...okay, that's such BS.  In the short term, the goals are summarized in three words.

Job.  Car.  Out!

Three very important words, but there they are.  To this goal, I need to get my act together in regards to the "moving to Sacramento" thing, because that's the only way I'm going to get out from under my parent's roof.

Longer term goals have to do mainly with zibblsnrt and our plans together, but that's still somewhat out, so...

I hope that was somewhat interesting at the least.
